Healthy homes standards compliance statement required from 1 July 2019
As part of the Residential Tenancies (Healthy Homes Standards) Regulations 2019, landlords must include a separately signed statement confirming intention to comply with the healthy homes standards (HHS) in all new tenancy agreements from 1 July 2019. The statement is also required if there is a written variation or renewal of a tenancy agreement.
The free downloadable Tenancy Services Residential Tenancy Agreement and Boarding House Agreement templates are currently being updated and will be available here from 24 June.
If landlords/agents are using their own agreement template, an example HHS compliance statement is available now on our tenancy agreements page which can be added to their agreements.
Failure to include and sign this statement from 1 July may result in a financial penalty up to $500.00
