Following the recent flooding on the West Coast of the South Island and in the Marlborough region the Temporary Accommodation Service has been activated.
Find out what to do if your rental property has been damaged.
The Temporary Accommodation Service (TAS) has been activated and is accepting registrations from anyone who has had to leave their home following the recent flooding on the West Coast of the South Island and in the Marlborough region. This includes tenants who need to move out of their rental property while repairs are undertaken.
If you need assistance finding temporary accommodation you can register for the service on the TAS website(external link) or phone 0508 754 163.
TAS provides ongoing temporary accommodation assistance in the short to medium term, for households who need to leave their home due to damage caused by a natural disaster. Temporary accommodation is different to 'shelter' or 'emergency accommodation', which is provided by emergency management agencies in the short term following a natural disaster.
